In Pursuit of image quality

NimbusQA is driven by the pursuit of achieving universally consistent image quality results for digital preservation workflows. We have designed NimbusQA to calibrate and verify digital reproduction systems against cultural heritage and digital preservation imaging standards such as FADGI, ISO 19264, and Metamorfoze.

While the measure that defines image quality can be set, the paths to achieve that measure are varied. The goal of NimbusQA is to account for as many variables as possible within the imaging pipeline and serve as a reference for any reproduction system to reach the highest possible results.

With NimbusQA, users can verify that their digital reproduction systems are configured with precision, ensuring the highest possible image quality. By meeting or exceeding the strict image quality standards set by cultural institutions, NimbusQA guides the user to the highest possible precision in every capture, offering confidence and reliability in the results.

Free & Accessible

NimbusQA remains steadfast in its community approach to achieving image quality consistency. We strive to maintain open operation for any and all levels of users with no restrictions on system or application.

NimbusQA was established in 2024 as a free service for cultural heritage and digital preservation applications. As it expands in features and functionality, the core of its quality assurance analysis remains free and in service to the community and the pursuit of consistent image quality.
